One Day Tour
The two lakes Sete cidades and Lagoa do Fogo tour, is a full-day tour of two volcanic complexes (Lagoa do Fogo and Sete Cidades), located in the central and western areas of the island of São Miguel, respectively.
The two lakes Sete cidades and Lagoa do Fogo tour starts in Ponta Delgada, with the 1st stop at the pineapple greenhouses, on a guided tour by us, in this way, it allows to explain the whole process of growing this fruit, because it is a very special fruit.
Then, we go to the viewpoint of Pico da Barrosa and the viewpoint of Lagoa do Fogo, because both provide us with fantastic and breathtaking views over Lagoa do Fogo.
As we descend to the center of Ribeira Grande, we pass through the Caldeira Velha Natural Park, which is an optional stop.
In the center of Ribeira Grande, which in addition to being the second largest city in São Miguel, you can see on a small walk the different styles of Baroque and São Miguel architecture that exist in this city on the north coast of São Miguel.
Before exploring and discovering the Sete Cidades area and its lagoons, we will stop for lunch at a restaurant with regional food, which can be a meat, fish or vegetarian dish.
After lunch, it is time to travel to Sete Cidades, where we will visit several lagoons, for example the Canary Lagoon and the Lagoa de Santiago, not forgetting the famous Sete Cidades Lagoon, the lagoon that presents us with two colors
One of the highlights of the two lakes Sete cidades and Lagoa do Fogo tour, is the viewpoint of Vista do Rei, the viewpoint that elected Lagoa das Sete Cidades, as one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal, it is in this viewpoint that we can see the colors green and blue.
As we descend to the center of the parish of Sete Cidades, where we get to know a little better this quiet and peaceful parish of São Miguel, we will introduce other viewpoints with very beautiful views of the caldera and Lagoa das Sete Cidades.
When leaving Sete Cidades, we go to the viewpoint of Escalvado, used in the past as a lookout for whale hunting, but which provides us with a fantastic view over the sea, over the Mosteiros (parish) and over the islets of the Mosteiros.
to finnish the two lakes Sete cidades and Lagoa do Fogo tour, our return to Ponta Delgada is made by the South of the island, where it may be possible to visit the Ponta da Ferraria viewpoint, because in addition to being the most westerly tip of São Miguel it is another place rich in volcanic activity.
