As the Azores are volcanic islands and the island of São Miguel, the island of the Azores with the highest volcanic activity, we go to Furnas, because it is in this village where the greatest volcanic expression of the Azores is found.
In Furnas, in addition to knowing different springs and different fumaroles and being in contact with the energy of the volcano, we will take a break for lunch, in a restaurant with traditional and local cuisine.
After lunch, we continue to Vila Franca do Campo, to show you another Natural Wonder of São Miguel, the islet of Vila Franca do Campo, it is a small island, which is close to the island of São Miguel and which is very frequented in the summer by bathers, because in its interior a “natural pool” was formed.
Being the Sete Cidades lagoon, one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal, we couldn’t miss on our itinerary, so we go to the Vista do Rei viewpoint, a viewpoint that allows us to observe the Sete Cidades lagoon and see the green and blue colors of the pond.
