Half Day Tour
Furnas half day tour is a circular tour with an average duration of 4 to 5 hours to Furnas, which allows you to get to know a little of the north and south coast of the island of São Miguel, the tea plantations, the hot spring’s, fumaroles and Furnas lake.
On the north coast, we selected one of the two tea plantations and factories in São Miguel, for a guided tour of the facilities and the tea plantation, to find out how tea from the Azores is produced.
After a tea tasting at the factory, we head towards Furnas, to get to know and see up close all the volcanic activity that exists in Furnas, we will highlight the fumaroles, the hot and spring waters and finally the Lagoa das Furnas.
Inserted inside the caldera of the volcano, this being the largest on the island of São Miguel, the parish or village of Furnas offers us a lot, to see and to enjoy, because you can explore and enjoy, not only the warm waters in the puddle of Dona Beija , but also the botanical garden or Lagoa das Furnas, as well as the surrounding area of fumaroles and springs.
Before leaving Furnas, we go to the Lagoa das Furnas, because it is near the Lagoa das Furnas, where the famous Furnas stew is made in volcanic soil.
We left Furnas in the direction of Vila Franca do Campo to see up close and from a panoramic view the islet of Vila Franca do campo, because it is a small uninhabited island, but very frequented in the summer by bathers and where there is a acrobatic jumping event into the water, known worldwide.
The Furnas half-day tour ends in Ponta Delgada, where we can end up at your hotel, in the city center or elsewhere in the city, for example, in a restaurant.
